On the 15th of July, 2020, the Ambassador-designate of Georgia Giorgi Mirtskhulava presented copy of credentials to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic, Ambassador Álvaro Mendonça e Moura. In frames of the ceremony, a meeting was also held with the Chief of the State Protocol, Ambassador Clara Nunes dos Santos.
Positive dynamics of the bilateral relations between Georgia and the Portugal and the perspectives for further cooperation were being discussed at the meeting with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Secretary General reaffirmed support for Georgia by the Portuguese side, welcomed the appointment of a new Ambassador of Georgia and wished him success in his future endeavors.
The Ambassador of Georgia expressed his gratitude for the support and readiness to facilitate the further deepening of bilateral relations.
