PRESENTATION OF CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE PORTUGUESE REPUBLIC

 

On May 26, 2025, H.E. Ambassador of Georgia, Mr. Levan Tsurtsumia, presented his credentials to H.E. the President of Portugal, Prof. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. The official credential presentation ceremony took place at the presidential residence, the National Palace of Belém.

The President of Portugal received, following the ceremony, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia in an audience. President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa wished the Georgian Ambassador success in his future duties. In turn, the Ambassador of Georgia reaffirmed the desire and readiness to further deepen the friendly and partnership relations between Georgia and Portugal. During the meeting, the parties discussed future prospects for bilateral cooperation and the current situation in the region.

As part of the credential presentation ceremony to the President of Portugal, a military parade was held in the courtyard of the National Palace of Belém, during which the military band performed the national anthems of Georgia and Portugal.
