Ambassador of Georgia to the Portuguese Republic, Levan Tsurtsumia, held a meeting with Ricardo Bonito, Mayor of Vidigueira in the Alentejo region

On 22 October 2026, Ambassador of Georgia to the Portuguese Republic, Levan Tsurtsumia, held a meeting with Ricardo Bonito, Mayor of Vidigueira in the Alentejo region.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation and ties between Georgian and Portuguese municipalities, including in the field of viticulture and winemaking.

As part of the visit, the Ambassador of Georgia participated in the presentation of Professor Manuel Baioa’s book - “Talha Wine in Lower Alentejo,” held in Vidigueira. One of the chapters of the book is dedicated to the centuries-old tradition of Georgian qvevri wine.
