Ambassador of Georgia George Mirtskhulava presented a Letter of Credence to the Executive Secretary of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) Francisco Ribeiro Telles, on the 9th of September, 2020. An introductory meeting took place after presenting the Letter. Existing and past cooperation as well as future possibilities were discussed.
Importance of being an associated observer of CPLP was noted. Georgia has been an Associated Observer in the CPLP since 2014, what facilitates strengthening the political dialogue with the community member states as well as further development of bilateral economic and cultural relations with the Portuguese language countries. It is an honour for Georgia and is considered the best way to get closer to the lusophone world.
